A meeting with Baybars Altuntash, chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) of local start-ups was organized. It is worth highlighting that WBAF unites more than 1400 "angel investors" from 132 countries of the world and has offices in 10 countries. The meeting aims to connect local start-ups with "angel investors" and provide them with information about opportunities to access foreign markets.
About 80 start-ups took part in the event on the subject "Start-ups: Access to the World" organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) at "Baku SMB House".
At the event, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov gave detailed information about various support and services provided by KOBİA to start-up, micro and small entrepreneurs to support the development of innovative entrepreneurship in our country. It was noted that the Agency presented grants and "Start-up" certificates to start-ups on digital solutions for e-commerce, e-governance, e-payment, transport-logistics, e-agriculture and business, which are the main pillars of the digital economy. The Startup Development Center renders services at "Baku SMB House" for start-ups, various trainings on innovative business are conducted by the Agency's SMB development centers, and events are organized.
Baybars Altuntash, the chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), shared the experience of WBAF on the access of start-ups to foreign markets, made a presentation on the opportunities in this field and the requirements of "angel investors" for financing start up projects, and answered the questions from the start-ups.
Zaur Kardashov, adviser to the chairman of the Board of KOBİA, provided detailed information on the state support mechanisms available in our country for local start-ups.
